Bahrain Signs Landmark Agreement with Aetosky to Deploy National Geospatial AI Platform for Multi-Agency Impact
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has signed a strategic agreement with Aetosky, a Singapore-based leader in geospatial AI and big-data analytics, to deploy Aetosky’s enterprise geospatial-AI platform as a nationally governed capability under SLRB. The rollout will enhance government efficiency across urban planning, infrastructure, agriculture, environmental monitoring, while strictly adhering to Bahrain's data protection regulations and privacy standards.
Leveraging high-resolution SkySat imagery from Planet and advanced geospatial AI technology from Aetosky, Bahrain will integrate near real-time monitoring across 850 km² of its territory. All data processing and storage occurs within Bahrain's sovereign infrastructure. Operated under strict national oversight, the system enhances Bahrain’s existing capabilities with advanced change detection, spatial data governance, and scalable AI-driven analytics for public service improvement.
“Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept - it is a driving force behind how we build, protect, and sustain our nation today. By integrating AI into our geospatial and monitoring systems, we are unlocking powerful capabilities to detect changes, respond faster, and make smarter decisions. This partnership with Aetosky represents a strategic step forward in our journey toward smarter cities, more resilient infrastructure, and a sustainable future for the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
H.E Eng. Basim Bin Yacob Al‑Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau
A Unified National Platform for Strategic Transformation
Bahrain is taking a leading role in implementing a unified geospatial AI system capable of supporting dozens of high-impact government use cases from a centralized national data hub. The platform delivers AI-driven analytics under Bahraini governance, large-scale spatial data management, and robust security protocols aligned with national cybersecurity standards to ensure responsible use and privacy protection.
Applications include:
Vegetation and green infrastructure monitoring
Smart city infrastructure tracking
Agricultural and afforestation analysis
Infrastructure and environmental change detection
“This initiative represents a strategic step by Bahrain to build AI capacity across government. Our platform is not just a point solution - it’s a national operating system for geospatial insight. We are proud to deliver a system that empowers multiple departments to act faster, collaborate better, and make informed decisions with confidence,”
Abhay Swarup Mittal, CEO of Aetosky
Embedding AI Expertise: Building Enduring Local Capacity
A core pillar of the partnership is human-capital development. Aetosky is working hand-in-hand with SLRB to embed advanced AI skills and create self-sustaining operational models:
Hands-on training for analysts, urban planners, and GIS specialists
Workshops on AI workflows, satellite analytics, and data-driven decision-making
Operational integration support to help departments institutionalize AI processes and achieve long-term independence
By investing in people as well as technology, Bahrain is transforming a platform deployment into a nationwide, evolving capability that will keep pace with the Kingdom’s strategic needs for years to come
